Terms of Use

SC TMG IA Compagnon — Version 2.0 — effective 30 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the SC TMG IA Compagnon application (the "app") on iPhone, iPad, Android and web browsers. By using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Publisher

1. Licence

You are granted a non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app, for personal and non-commercial purposes, on devices that you own or control. You may not redistribute, sublicense or resell the app or its data. On iOS, these terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies to anything they do not cover.

2. Free of charge

The app is free of charge: no purchase, no subscription, no in-app purchase, no advertising, no donation. Updates are provided at the publisher's discretion.

3. Nature of the app: play aid and AI

The app is an unofficial play aid for StarCraft: The Miniatures Game. It calculates rules, dice and score from the information you enter; it does not replace the official rules. In case of any discrepancy, the official rules, FAQ and errata of Archon Studio prevail.

The built-in opponent ("bot", four levels) is a rule-based program that runs entirely on your device. Its choices are generated automatically and may be imperfect.

If you wish, the app can also export a game as text for you to paste into the AI assistant of your choice, and then paste back its answer. This feature is optional and entirely manual; the app uses no key and no account for this purpose. Answers from an external AI may be inaccurate, incomplete or made up ("hallucinations"): check them against the official rules. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the assistant you use.

4. No official ruling

No output of the app constitutes an official rules ruling. For a tournament or a rules dispute, refer to the official documents and to the organiser.

5. System requirements

iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or later; a recent Android device (once the Android version is available); or a recent web browser. At Expert level, the bot may think for a few seconds per decision, longer on an older device. The publisher is not responsible for malfunctions on an unsupported device or browser.

6. Battery and temperature

The bot's calculations (especially at Expert level) make heavy use of the processor: increased battery consumption and slight warming of the device during a long game are normal and do not constitute a defect. Stop using the app if the device becomes too hot.

7. Personal data

The app works 100% offline, with no account and no server: it collects no data. Your games, army lists and settings stay on your device. Support messages that you choose to send by e-mail are processed as described in the privacy policy, available in the app and at https://sctmg-iacompagnon.com/privacy.

8. Permitted and prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • use the app for any unlawful purpose;
  • redistribute or resell the app, its card data or its images;
  • present the app as an official product of Blizzard Entertainment or Archon Studio, or use it in a way that

suggests such an affiliation;

  • attempt to circumvent its technical limitations, to disrupt it or to damage the devices of others;
  • load into the app any content that infringes the rights of third parties.

Your games, notes, lists and files remain yours; you are responsible for what you create, load and share.

9. Languages and translations

The app and these terms are available in French, English, Spanish and German; some translations were produced with the help of AI tools and may contain errors. In case of any discrepancy, the French version of these terms prevails. Please report any translation error to support@sctmg-iacompagnon.com.

10. Open-source components

The app includes third-party software under the MIT licence (including React, i18next, Zustand, marked, Capacitor). Their notices and licences can be viewed in the app (About → Open-source notices).

11. Intellectual property and trademarks

The interface, the original code, the name and the visual elements specific to the app belong to the publisher. Open-source components remain the property of their authors under their licences.

This is an unofficial fan project. StarCraft is a trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.; StarCraft: The Miniatures Game, its rules, its cards and their images are © Archon Studio. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment or Archon Studio; these names are used only to indicate what the app is for. Card data are transcribed for interoperability purposes and will be removed upon simple request by the rights holders. No rights are granted to you beyond the licence in section 1.

12. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, freedom from errors or accuracy of any rules calculation. This does not limit mandatory statutory consumer guarantees (section 15).

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profits, decisions made on the basis of the app, battery wear, device heating or use on an unsupported device. Back up anything that matters: your data are on your device and nowhere else. This limitation does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (negligence causing death or personal injury, fraud, mandatory consumer rights).

14. Terms specific to Apple's App Store

These terms are concluded between you and the publisher only, and not with Apple. The publisher is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services. In the event of any failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple; Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever. The publisher is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including third-party intellectual property claims. You represent that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, may enforce them against you.

15. Consumer rights (EU / France)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain your mandatory statutory guarantees, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-1 et seq. of the Code de la consommation (French Consumer Code)) and the warranty against hidden defects. These terms can neither limit nor exclude them.

16. Changes to these terms

The publisher may change these terms to reflect changes to the app or to the law. The version in force is identified by its number and date at the top of this page, and is published in the app and at https://sctmg-iacompagnon.com/terms. Continuing to use the app constitutes acceptance of the new version, subject to your mandatory consumer rights.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory protective provisions of the country of residence of a consumer in the EU. The French courts have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory rules allowing a consumer to bring proceedings before the courts of their own country. The European Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025: in the event of a dispute, first contact support@sctmg-iacompagnon.com and then, where appropriate, the competent court.
